Data privacy statement
Introduction
Thank you for your visit! We would like to take this opportunity to inform you on type, extent and purposes of the collection and use of your personal data on our websites, as well as of the processing of your data in countries outside the application area of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (OJ EC No. L 119, pgs. 1-88)).
The purpose of the data processing is the operation of a website informing on the services offered by MVZ Labor Ravensburg as well as complementary facts and offerings.
Personal data refers to individual statements on personal or material relations of an identified or identifiable natural person. Anonymised or statistical data which cannot be used to make a connection to your person (or which can only be used to do so with unreasonable expenditures of time, costs and work effort) does not constitute personal data.
By use of the internet technology and electronic data processing, people may experience a feeling of losing track record on where their data is stored and for what purpose. Especially in the medical sector, trust in careful and secure treatment of customer and patient data is of key importance. Thus, we would like to explain to you as visitors to our websites, what steps MVZ Labor Ravensburg (hereinafter referred to as 'MVZ') undertakes to guarantee the privacy of your personal details and how we respect your personal rights.
You can visit most of our websites without making any statements about your person. However, it is necessary to provide personal information for certain services.
Validity of the privacy statement
The MVZ data privacy policy is valid for all websites for all German based branches for which the MVZ is responsible. MVZ web pages may include links to external companies to which this data protection statement does not apply.
MVZ guarantees the confidentiality of your personal data
- by ensuring that our employees have the duty for confidentiality,
- that our security measures correspond to the current state of technology,
- and that the data protection regulations are observed by our Data Protection Officer.
Data which is submitted by browser/ internet technology
Your visit to our website is logged. We record the IP address currently being used by your PC, the date and time, the type of browser and operating system of your PC, and the pages that you have viewed. We are not able to make personal identification. This data is only collected for purpose of data security. At exception for statistical purposes (and then in an anonymous form) no other collection of data is carried out.
Cookies
In some cases, this website uses cookies. Cookies are small pieces of text information which your browser stores on the end user device in the form of a file. This website uses the web analysis tool 'Matomo' (previously known as 'Piwik') for the statistical analysis of visitor accesses. Not only the cookie enables recognition of visitors who have previously visited the website, but also the non-individual related analysis of behaviour on the website. This way, for instance, we are able to recognise which page users arrive at this website from and which 'click path' the user took, i.e. which pages a user viewed on the website 'labor-gaertner.com' and how long for.
We are also able to see how many and which files users/visitors downloaded. We are not at all interested in tracking how a specific person has viewed our website. But we do have interest to understand, which visitors view this website in general, the visitors interest and at what stage potential errors may have to be corrected, since a user retrieves an incorrect or empty page. And we are interested to understand which contents you access most. All in all, we will be able to produce even more similar interesting and popular content.
Matomo also sets a 'session cookie'. This cookie is automatically deleted when the session has expired. These cookies cannot be used to identify individual persons. The cookies are used for the purpose of creating indirect individual-related user statistics ('pseudonymous user profiles'). No data will be passed on to a third party. In accordance with Section 15 Para. 3 of the German Telemedia Act (TMG), you have the right to object to this data processing, which you can assert as follows:
Right of objection as defined by Section 15 Para. 3 TMG:
You may prevent the analysis of user behaviour and block the domain 'labor-gaertner.com' in the cookie setting of your browser by means of an exception in your browser (such as Firefox). Please use your browsers program help menu to find out how to set this up.
Of course, you may delete the above-mentioned cookies in your browser as desired on an individual or periodic basis in order to delete tracking information.
If you have activated the 'do not track' (DNT) functionality in your browser, the web analysis tool will automatically not record your visit to the website. However, this does not work for every browser. To activate DNT in your browser, please refer to your browser's help menu.
You also have the option of using the cookie policy banner at the bottom of the screen for allowing or preventing any form of user analysis on this website. You can change this setting at any time by opening the little banner in the bottom left of the screen, displaying the cookie policy banner and taking your changes.
Contact form
On our website we provide you with a contact form. In addition to mandatory information, this form also allows you to provide information on a voluntary basis. The mandatory information (name, E-Mail address and reason for contacting us) is used for the purpose of processing the contact. The additional information (street, fax, city/town, etc.) is optional and enables us in processing your request more precise.
The storage of the transmitted data occur until the purpose is achieved for which data is collected. For data out of the contact form and those transmitted by electronical mail it is valid, if the circumstances implicate the end of the user conversation by a final clarification of the request. Afterwards the data will be deleted.
Newsletter / Medical information sheets / Updates
If you sign up for our newsletter, we will collect your E-mail address as mandatory information and your first and last name as optional information. When ordering the newsletter, you are requested to provide us with the following statement:
Yes, I would like to subscribe to the newsletter for information of the latest news and events concerning MVZ Labor Ravensburg and laboratory diagnostics. I have read the data protection notice and accept its contents. In particular, I grant my consent that the data is processed by a service provider located in the USA. You may unsubscribe at any time by using this unsubscribe link.
We will then send you a confirmation link to the E-mail address you provided us with. You will only receive our newsletter once you have activated this confirmation link (double opt-in). If you no longer wish to receive the newsletter, you may unsubscribe from it at any time. To do so, simply click on the unsubscribe link which is included in every one of our newsletters.
Almost all automatically pushed E-mails or E-mails not individually addressed to you alone (such as newsletters) are sent via MailChimp. MailChimp is a service provided by The Rocket Science Group LLC, a service located in the USA, which we use to send our newsletter with. The use of MailChimp on our website primarily ensures that E-mails are sent reliably, and above all, that sich E-mails are less likely to be suppressed in your spam filter. Unfortunately, standard mailing by means of our web server's PHP script function is not a well-suited alternative to this service.
In legal terms, the use of MailChimp constitutes a transfer of your personal data. Since MailChimp and the IT systems it uses are located in the USA, this constitutes a transfer of data to a third-country in a non-secure non-EU member state. The data protection regulation in the USA differs from the regulation in the EU. In terms of data protection legislation, a suitable level of data protection must be ensured when data is processed in a non-EU member state, such as the USA. In the case of MailChimp, this is achieved by means of the 'Privacy Shield'. Thus, it is generally assumed that there is a 'suitable level of data protection' when personal data is processed by accredited companies. The Rocket Science Group, LLC, which operates MailChimp, is certified in accordance with the requirements of the Privacy Shield. The conditions for handling the data in conformity with data protection legislation are therefore fulfilled.
With respect to MailChimp, we are confident that the technical and organisational measures which MailChimp takes achieve a level of protection for your data which meets our standards.
Like other service providers, MailChimp offers means of statistically analysis of usage data. As a rule, analysis capabilities are group-based. For instance, we understand how many users an E-mail was sent to, whether E-mails were rejected and whether users unsubscribed from the list after receiving an E-mail.
When you enter your E-mail address in the mailing list, it will first be temporarily saved by the list provider (MailChimp). The E-mail address is only stored for the purpose of sending the holder of the E-mail address an E-mail in which he/she can confirm his/her membership in the E-mail list ('double opt-in'). If the E-mail is confirmed, it will be permanently saved by the list provider until the E-mail address is deleted by the holder of the E-mail address or by us, being the list operator. In order to prove entry in the list and to defend against any accusation of sending unsolicited E-mails, the list provider will save the date of entry in the list and the IP address under which the entry was made. We have no influence over the fact that the IP address is stored and hereby explicitly inform you that the IP address will be stored. Important note: The IP address will not be used in any capacity beyond this.
Your rights
You have the right to information and, under certain conditions, the right to correct, delete, limit processing or object to the processing of your personal data, as well as the right to data portability.
To excert your rights, please send a written enquiry for this to our Data Protection Officer's contact below. In your mail, please describe the type of personal data in question as accurately as possible in relation to your request.
Right to complain to a supervisory authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. You may consult the supervisory authority based in your state or place of residence, or you may consult the supervisory authority dedicated to the MVZ. This is:

Secure communication on the internet
The internet is generally considered as an insecure medium of communication. In contrast to a telephone line, transmission of data in the internet can be more easily intercepted, recorded or even changed by unauthorized third parties. To ensure the confidentiality of communication, we use a so-called SSL encryption. According to the current standard of knowledge, the 128-bit encryption is considered secure. All browsers of the recent generation achieve this level of safety. If necessary, you should update your PC's browser.
We will be glad to answer any questions you may have on data protection.
